Police: Mississippi man beat neighbor over lawn mowing job

A Mississippi man is accused of beating a neighbor with a hammer and an ax handle for hiring someone else to mow their lawn. The Greenwood Commonwealth reports 39-year-old Brad Gentry had been paid to mow his neighbor's lawn but stopped halfway through and left.

A judge in Jackson County, Mississippi, set bond Monday for Todd Harrell at $22,500 on three counts of possessing a firearm after a felony conviction.

A Richmond, Virginia, elementary school will switch its name from that of a Confederate general to that of the nation's first black President. On Monday, the Richmond school board voted to rename J.E.B. Stuart Elementary as Barack Obama Elementary School, reported CNN affiliate WTVR.
